Mona: My Wild Step-Sister maps an afternoon when Mona Newman and her stepbrother have the house to themselves and stop pretending otherwise. Five episodes push that freedom until the stepmother returns early, with a brazen, provocative tone and a twist about where Mona's appetites come from.
Premise and first two chapters
An afternoon with no parents at home turns risky when a stepbrother walks into the bathroom while his stepsister is in the tub. Mona Newman is annoyed for about a second, then insists he lose his wet clothes and stop acting surprised. She is blunt, mocking and entirely in control, and she suspects he has wanted this for as long as she has. Their stepmother is supposed to be out shopping for hours. Mona wants to make the most of the empty house; he wants to keep up with her; neither has planned for an early return.
The pilot begins with the bathroom intrusion, Mona's dare that it is now his turn to undress, and a noise at the door that she brushes off as the postman. In the second episode the two are fully together when the stepmother walks in, back from shopping far sooner than expected. Instead of shock she says she is glad she came home, and starts deciding what consequence they deserve. What that consequence turns out to be, and how involved the stepmother intends to get, is where episode 3 picks up.
