The Gods Gave Me My Father's Wife unfolds in a mythic kingdom where Prince Theron discovers that Queen Lysandra, his father's new wife, has been sharing his dreams. Premise and first two chapters
A prophecy delivered at a royal homecoming threatens a king's marriage and his throne. When Prince Theron comes back to the palace, the king presents Queen Lysandra, and Theron knows her at once from his dreams. King Evian notices nothing and has the oracle dragged away when she warns that he has invited a serpent into his bed. Theron wants to understand why the visions are shared; Lysandra claims the goddess Aphrodite sent her, and she wants him to fulfil the half of the prophecy the king never heard.
Episode 1 moves from the dream to the throne room introduction, the oracle's outburst and a private exchange in which Theron and Lysandra admit to the same visions, ending with her urging him to do what the gods want. The second episode takes them to Aphrodite's chamber, where Lysandra recites the missing lines: the king's son will enter the royal bed and inherit the crown. Theron realises she married his father to reach him. Then the chamber doors seal, and Lysandra suggests the gods want to watch. What the king learns, and when, is the question waiting in episode 3.
