Kiss the Bride, Stepbro casts Leo as a stand-in groom for his stepsister Ava, whose fiancé Brad keeps skipping the preparations. Over five episodes Leo practices every part, from the vows and the kiss to the fittings, and each stage gets more convincing than intended. Romantic, teasing, with a mischievous edge.
Premise and first two chapters
A wedding rehearsal without a groom needs someone to stand at the altar. Ava's fiancé Brad is always busy, so she recruits her stepbrother Leo and tells him that for today he is Brad. She has firm views on where Brad should hold her. Brad, reached by phone, approves of the stand-in and calls Leo harmless. Leo wants to help without embarrassing himself; Ava wants a rehearsal that feels real, and seems eager to test the claim that her stepbrother is harmless.
Episode 1 runs through the mock ceremony: corrected hand positions, Leo improvising vows sharper than anything Brad has said, Brad's phone call and finally the officiant's cue to kiss the bride. By the second episode Ava has slipped into a fairy-tale gown meant for the reception and wants Leo to lace it tighter. She runs through the order of events again, a family friend comes looking for her, and Ava hushes Leo before declaring that the next item on the list is the wedding night itself. Whether Leo goes along with that last rehearsal is what episode 3 has to show.
