Taking Care of My Stepmom follows a man left in charge of his father's wife after she breaks her leg, with the father away for two weeks. Premise and first two chapters
A fractured leg turns a two-week business trip into a test of loyalty. The father leaves his wife in the care of his grown son, while she cannot manage stairs or buttons. She has a medical appointment to dress for, a dress with a zipper she cannot reach, and a bra clasp that defeats her. He wants to be useful and stay decent; she seems curious to find out how far his usefulness reaches.
Episode 1 opens on the departure: the father hugs them both, thanks his son and drives off, and within hours the son is closing a zipper with careful hands while she warns that tonight he will have to help her out of it. The second episode moves to evening. While the father calls to check in and hears that everything is fine, she asks for slower help with the dress and the clasp, then asks to be laid down on the father's side of the bed with the son beside her. Whether he stays on his own side of the mattress is the matter the third episode has to settle.
