Premise and first two chapters
A five-hundred-dollar trial pays Owen's rent and leaves him with an ability no one warned him about: he can see through clothing. At first it feels like a private superpower, and he grins through a talk with his landlady, Mrs. Alvarez, about money due on Friday. There is one exception. Dr. Antonella Larrea, the scientist running the study, appears exactly as she is dressed, and she seems to know it. Owen wants the money and the thrill. Larrea wants to measure what the drug is doing to him before it does lasting harm.
Episode 1 sets up the effect and the missed follow-up appointment that brings him back into Larrea's orbit. In the second episode the vision goes deeper than skin, he sees the bones in his own head, and nosebleeds start. Larrea calms him with a test disguised as a game: for each hidden mark he correctly names on her, she removes one item. He finds a birthmark and a snake tattoo, and then a scar she did not expect him to see. What that scar is, and why it shows, is the puzzle for episode 3.
