I Dated My Best Friend Mom traces Jake's dating-app joke gone wrong: he swipes right on Josie Villanueva, his friend Tyler's mother, and she matches. Then he spends the night at their house. Premise and first two chapters
Swiping right on the wrong profile leaves evidence on two phones inside one house. Tyler orders Jake to swipe left on his own mother, Josie Villanueva; Jake swipes right and lies about it. That evening he is staying over at Tyler's, and Josie greets them both at the door. Jake wants the match to stay buried and the friendship intact; Josie already knows about the swipe and wants to know whether he meant it. The official synopsis adds a later complication, another woman who learns the secret.
The pilot moves fast: Tyler's alarm, a greeting with Josie, Jake privately admitting what he did, and Josie preparing the guest room before confronting him with the match and asking if he likes what he sees. In the second episode Tyler calls him away, Josie announces she is going to shower and remarks that it is no fun alone, and Jake slips off with an excuse about the bathroom. He realises she is serious. She tells him to stay quiet. Whether Tyler notices his friend has gone missing is the hook for episode 3.
