My Stepdaughter’s Boyfriend traces a week-long family visit in which Ethan, the new boyfriend, meets Richard and Holly, his partner, and Richard proposes an arrangement his daughter must never learn about. Premise and first two chapters
A week of rest at the father's house comes with an offer no guest expects: the host wants his daughter's boyfriend to pursue his partner, on condition that the daughter never finds out. Ethan arrives polite and nervous, determined to make a good impression on Richard. Holly, Richard's partner, spends the days by the pool in a bikini and treats stares as compliments. Richard frames the plan as an old game the couple once played and wants to revive. The daughter, glad her father and boyfriend seem to get along, takes their sudden closeness at face value.
The pilot sets out the arrival, Richard's speech about relaxing after months of hard work, and the moment he catches Ethan looking at Holly and asks his blunt question. In the second episode Holly doubts she still looks the part, Richard lays down the rules, and Ethan gives his word to keep the secret. An errand with a glass of water ends in a spill, and Holly says she needs to change. What Ethan does with that opening is left for the next episode.
