Not Under My Roof pits a nervous groom against Antonella Larrea, the mother-in-law who publicly forbids his bachelor party during the week of the wedding. Five episodes follow her private alternative, played out a single flight of stairs below the sleeping bride, in a hushed, risky and bold register.
Premise and first two chapters
A ban on any bachelor party, announced to the whole family in the week of the wedding, leaves the groom convinced his future mother-in-law hates him. Antonella Larrea rules her house and tells him to always obey the woman. Her daughter has had too many mimosas at brunch and goes upstairs to sleep, asking to be woken at four. Once the house is quiet, Antonella tells him that parties get talked about and this one will stay in the family. He wants her approval and a calm week; she wants to give him a gift on her own terms.
Episode 1 lays out the public ban, the nap and Antonella leading him through the house to a surprise. The second episode reveals what waits there: two friends, one of them Bianca, his fiancée's godmother, framed as rehearsal dinner preparation. He protests that his fiancée is just upstairs; Antonella reminds him her daughter sleeps lightly, so everything must stay quiet. His protests about family do not convince them. Whether the bride wakes before four, and what she hears if she does, is left for episode 3.
