Snowed-In with Stepmom places Theo, a boyfriend meeting the family, inside a storm-bound house with his girlfriend's stepmother, Amber Murphy. Across five episodes the weather removes every exit and the household notices everything; the tone is tense, sly and close to a farce of near discoveries.
Premise and first two chapters
A blizzard closes the roads and halts the trains until Tuesday, so Theo's first visit to his girlfriend's family turns into days with no exit. The house belongs to her father, but the taste is her stepmother's, and Amber Murphy is impossible to ignore: she trains in the living room most mornings and catches Theo staring from the moment he arrives. His girlfriend shows him the yard and the neighbor's old trampoline, unaware of anything. Theo wants to make a good impression. Amber, pouring him more wine at dinner, asks him outright what he wants.
The pilot moves through the arrival, a bathroom door opened without knocking and a dinner where the snow becomes the main topic, ending on Amber's blunt question. Episode 2 opens on a morning workout she is filming, and Theo is caught watching by his girlfriend, who storms off. Amber warns that the house is about two minutes from exploding and tells him to choose now. What the girlfriend says when she comes back is the problem waiting in episode 3.
