I Couldn't Say No to Our Babysitter takes a simple favor, a lift home for Mila after her date fails to show, and lets it test a married man's resolve. His wife Claire is asleep at home. Five episodes, slow and confessional, framed by his own guilty narration.
Premise and first two chapters
A canceled date leaves Mila waiting late at the Hartley house for a cab, and the man of the house offers to drive her instead. Mila works for the family and knows his wife, Claire, well; the house is quiet, Claire already asleep upstairs. In the car she praises him for offering when most men would not, and wishes her dates were more like him. He reminds her he is married. She asks him to come up to her apartment for two minutes to collect something for Mrs. Hartley.
The first episode is that drive and that request. In the second episode he follows her inside, and she disappears to change, returning in the outfit she meant to wear for her date and asking his opinion. He tries to leave; she tells him to stop thinking about his wife. Then his phone rings with Claire's name on it. Whether he answers, or keeps proving the title true, is the question episode 3 has to settle.
