Premise and first two chapters
A woman left alone on an empty desert road needs a ride, and the only driver who stops is a plain, shy man in a battered pickup. Colette has just ditched her boyfriend, Tyler, at a gas station fifty miles back, and tells the driver she will go wherever he is going. He is two hundred miles from home, hot, nervous and unable to believe she climbed into his truck. She wants a shower and distance from Tyler. He wants to be helpful and not make a fool of himself.
Episode 1 covers the drive: a cold drink handed over, talk of the heat and a motel forty miles ahead with one room left, which she accepts without hesitation. In the second episode the room is far from luxurious, she teases him about bringing a woman to a motel, and Tyler calls her phone to complain; she ends it with him for good. Then she asks for a towel and keeps telling him to come closer. Whether the driver crosses that room is the question episode 3 has to answer.
