Kiss My Enemy pits Brooke, a wrestler, against a rival hired to end her career in a single match, then follows the uneasy alliance that forms when the plan fails. Six episodes mix promotion politics, a thirty-day countdown and growing attraction between opponents. Gritty, physical and slow-burning.
Premise and first two chapters
A rigged match is supposed to end Brooke's wrestling career tonight, and her opponent tells her so to her face. The rival has been paid to work the shoulder and put Brooke down for good, yet she keeps urging Brooke to fight back, as if hoping the booking fails. Behind them sits a promoter who controls the contracts and can keep either woman from working again. The ring is the only place the two speak openly, and every hold carries a message.
Episode 1 is the match itself, with the rival attacking the injured shoulder while muttering warnings. In episode 2 the referee counts three, but the result is not the one that was planned, and Brooke demands to know why she was allowed to win. The rival denies doing her any favors and admits the money was not enough. The promoter then sets terms: a big card in thirty days, flames at the Colosseum, and whoever loses that night never works again. How two women bound by one contract handle that deadline is left to episode 3.
