Premise and first two chapters
A father's fear for his heiress sets the terms of a resort holiday: someone wants to harm Solene Yoon, so a bodyguard goes wherever she goes. Solene resents every step he takes behind her and wants her freedom back. The bodyguard, a former soldier of few words, wants only to do the job he is paid for. Her father, who has already dismissed three protectors this month, wants her safe and the guard's attention kept strictly professional. The setting is a string of waterside parties full of pushy men.
Episode 1 opens with Solene trying to shake her shadow, then a guest grabbing her arm at the bar. The bodyguard steps in, and the guest ends up in the pool, threatening to call her father. Solene, instead of thanking him, calls it jealousy. The second episode brings the father to the party. She asks him to remove the man she calls an animal; he refuses and reminds the guard of exactly what the payment covers. A drink she orders him to share is the first crack in the arrangement, and whether he can keep the contract's single rule stays open.
