Madison: My Dad's Best Friend's Daughter is built on a borrowed attic room and a family friendship that starts to strain. Madison, in town for a tennis exchange, and her host Ryan carry five episodes of glances, small favors and near misses, told in a teasing, slow-burn register.
Premise and first two chapters
A three-month tennis exchange puts Madison in the house of Ryan, the man who owns the circuit and who once worked a miserable summer on a building site beside her father. Her plan had been Cincinnati and then the world; her father wanted her first trip spent among people he trusts, so she takes the attic room instead. She arrives freshly single, recording updates for her followers and set on proving herself on court. Ryan, whose girlfriend is away for the moment, means to be the dependable host her father expects, and keeps reminding himself of that.
The pilot handles the arrival: a doorstep greeting, a tour, and a kitchen exchange over a cucumber that turns her banter suggestive and leaves him off balance. In the second episode she asks him to film a workout clip, teases him for going quiet behind the lens, then recruits him to spot her squats with his hands ready at her hips. A towel he is slow to fetch ends it on a charged pause. How long Ryan can keep playing the careful host is the question the third episode inherits.
