Premise and first two chapters
A leaking pipe in the middle of the night introduces a man who has just moved in to the couple across the hall. Jake, the husband, thanks him for the repair, mentions that he works nights, and asks him to keep an eye on his wife, Simona, half joking that she will do something foolish while he is gone. The newcomer agrees without thinking. Simona, left alone each evening, soon decides the handy neighbor is the most interesting thing in the building, and her apartment starts failing in convenient ways.
The pilot moves from the first repair to a second knock after Jake has left, another kitchen leak that keeps her awake, and a compliment about his hands. In the second episode she calls him over because the shower has sprayed water everywhere; he finds the head was loosened by someone, and both of them end up drenched. He reminds her that she is married and lives next door, and she answers that the damage is already done. How he squares that night with the promise he made to Jake is left open for episode 3.
