Old Friends, New Sins hinges on Dasha, whose comfortable life depends on Niko's money, and on the night Niko admits his business is gone. She tests his best friend instead, and his calm refusal reverses the usual power. Five episodes, played as a slow burn with sharp, flirtatious talk.
Premise and first two chapters
A declined card at an expensive restaurant exposes the problem: Niko's business has collapsed, and the lifestyle he funds for Dasha is about to go with it. Niko confides in his best friend over dinner, admitting he is going broke. Dasha, who prices everything including herself, notices the shift and looks across the table at the friend who pays the check. He is loyal to Niko and unimpressed by her offers, which only sharpens her interest. Niko, exhausted and grateful, wants his friend close and insists he stay the night at their house.
Episode 1 runs from the confession to the bill. Dasha tells the friend he cannot afford her, he replies that he makes women earn things, and the card is refused. He covers the check, and Dasha suggests the evening is not over. The second episode starts in the car home. She warns him not to chase her, he says men have no need to, and when they arrive Niko offers any room he likes before going to bed. Dasha mentions the guest wing is very private, and what follows there stays undecided.
