The Maid of Honor drops its whole story into the last two hours before a wedding. Mila, sister of the bride, confesses a long-held desire for the groom while Emma is kept out of sight by tradition. Five episodes, staged as a whispered, high-risk game played one wall away from the bride.
Premise and first two chapters
A wedding set for that same afternoon gives Mila a narrow window and a very bad idea. She is the bride's sister and maid of honor, and she has wanted the groom ever since her sister brought him home. Emma is dressing in the next room and refuses to let him see her, since superstition says it would spoil the day. That rule becomes Mila's cover. The groom cannot manage his own tie. Mila wants one time with him before the ceremony, and he wants to reach the altar with nothing to hide.
Episode 1 opens with Mila stepping in to fix the tie and then telling him plainly what she has carried for years, ending with her request for a single encounter before the vows. By the second instalment the groom is still holding her, both of them shaking, while Emma calls through the door about her hair and asks where her sister has gone. Mila keeps him there anyway and lets the bride wait. Whether the groom can face Emma at the altar after this, is left hanging.
