Premise and first two chapters
Seven days of guard duty at a rich man's house carry a fee of five thousand dollars and one condition: Nate must never stop watching. His boss flies to Singapore and phones at ten every night to ask whether his wife, Lucy, is alone. Lucy finds the arrangement insulting; her husband once spent that sum on a single gift for her. She puts on a red swimsuit the minute his car leaves, lounges by the pool and asks Nate to lie for her: tell the husband she is behaving, then come upstairs.
Episode 1 ends with the husband changing the plan himself, asking his employee to spend the night there, since Lucy hates an empty house after dark, and offering the guest room beside hers. She tells him not to bother with it. The second episode is built around a single phone call: the boss wants a report on how his wife is doing upstairs, Lucy is waiting, and the husband stays on the line asking whether anyone is still there. Whether Nate answers that call, and what he says if he does, carries into episode 3.
