The Witch Who Made Me King pits Ser Garrick, a knight barred from the throne by his birth, against the clock: seven lords must kneel, and five still refuse. A witch from the Blackwood proposes a trade, one night with her for each lord she delivers. Five episodes, dark fantasy, brooding and transactional.
Premise and first two chapters
A succession contest has a deadline, and Ser Garrick is losing it. Seven lords must swear to him before a crown can be his, two have done so, and the other five sneer at a knight born outside marriage. In the Blackwood he meets a witch who already knows his name and offers what his sword cannot win. Her condition is simple and costly: a night with her for every lord who kneels. Garrick wants the throne on merit; the witch wants him, and the queen regent backs another candidate.
Episode 1 starts with a challenge on the forest road, the witch mocking his plan to win the lords by force, and an invitation to come to her at moonrise with the promise that one lord will kneel by dawn. In the second instalment he comes, and they bargain: five lords, five nights, his body rather than his soul, and refusal means Haldan mocks his coronation. When his squire reports riders sent by the queen regent, Garrick sends him the wrong way. What the first night delivers by dawn is the subject of episode 3.
